W1: SharePoint 101: The Developer

This is an introduction to SharePoint for experienced developers who are new to the software, but who have been charged with creating the custom components with which their end users will assemble line-of-business applications. Everything from forms, spreadsheet models, feature and site definitions, and Web parts will be examined, along with the object model and the business data catalog.
W2: SharePoint 101: The Administrator

SharePoint is excellent software for collaboration and creating websites, among many other things. The administrator’s role is to hold it all together, through the installation, creation of server farms, and architecting, configuration and management of the servers. This full-day session will give experienced administrators new to SharePoint the knowledge they need to take on a SharePoint installation, and to get some rogue implementations under control.
W3: SharePoint 101: The Business User

Information management. Navigation and lists. Libraries, collaboration and document management. Project management dashboards, site templates and Web parts for reporting. These are among the topics that will be covered for technically savvy users whose organizations have mandated the adoption of SharePoint.

It also will touch on some of the architecture changes, including an introduction to Shared Service Applications, as well as new management options such as Managed Accounts. An understanding of SharePoint administration is required.

The agenda includes user and content analysis; storage definitions; library, list, blog and wiki specs; content types; and site lookup columns. At the conclusion of this workshop, you will have a site-planning worksheet and the knowledge needed to complete the planning process for your SharePoint site.

Not only will this workshop cover these Web part fundamentals, but you will also learn from specific examples of ways to put these skills into play. The new Data View Web Part interface in SharePoint 2010 will be demonstrated. You will learn how to create a merged list of multiple document libraries, how to create a change control system mashup, how to create a joined view of two different lists, and how to create a list/library permissions dashboard.
